AntiVirus software is a must on any computer today. It helps to keep viruses from invading your system. Fortunately, there is at least one great product available free of charge for home users. AVG Free Edition is available from Grisoft.com in Czechoslovakia. AVG Version 6 was enjoyed free of charge by millions of home users for about five years. When V6 was retired in late 2004, Grisoft made their far superior V7.0 product available free for home use.
Grisoft recently changed their name to AVG
for better customer recognition. On Tuesday, September 6, 2005 Intel
Capital announced a deal to acquire a $16 million stake in the Anti-virus
software provider Grisoft Inc., in the Czech Republic. This would be Intel
Capital's largest equity investment in Europe. Grisoft products are now used on
more than 25 million computers world wide. It has offices in Brno, Czech
Republic and in the United States. |
